The younger version of myself would have very much disagreed with what I am about to say. But alas, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
You have to understand how you are feeling and what it is you want out of a situation before you can even begin to move forward. I used to think after seeing my therapist that he never really said much and I just talked for a solid hour without much response. But now. Now I know. It’s all in your head. Everything you need is all right there. The tools, the inspiration, the motivation to achieve anything you want, it’s all right up there. There are lots of things that can contribute to changing your mindset, but these three I think are the most important.
Patience. I’ve never been good with waiting for things, my life goals specifically. But what I’ve learnt recently is that it has to take time. I tend to want to move onto new things really quickly. . . but as with most things in life we need to wait and it will happen when it’s meant to happen. The time will pass anyway. So enjoy being in the moment and what will happen will happen.
Attitude. Mindset is the only thing standing in the way of you and a good day, or you and productivity, or you and your goals. I’ve heard this time and time again. You can’t change the way other people act and the choices they make, but you can change how you act and react. You have that power and are responsible for your actions.
Consistency. To form a permanent and lastly habit in life we need to be consistent. And maybe the most important thing to be consistent with is our decision to have a positive and happy life. That’s what it comes down to in any situation. Is this benefiting you? Is this making you happy? and consciously make that decision everyday. You won’t hit the mark every day. But as long as you are aiming for the same mark everyday. That is what counts.
It is your choice. You, nobody else.
